Why do you offset over 500 milligrams of carbon dioxide when your calculations are 21.3 milligrams?

The calculations are based on efficient servers in terms of page views per server. We understand that not all servers are efficient (e.g., personal computers or servers of some small and medium sized companies), and we believe that, on average, the carbon offsetting we provide should at least equal the emissions corresponding to the website. Additionally, we belive in the underlying principles of carbon offsetting, and in particular, renewable energy offsets. For these reasons, on average, we offset 500 milligrams per page view, which is a factor of 25 over our calculations for efficient servers. We are able to adjust this number for individual users or companies upon determination of further data regarding hosting and average page view data.

How do you make money off of your services and products?

We make money off of our auditing services, our paid for products, and sponsorships. Currently, our Internet Service is provided for free, and we will notify you according to our terms and conditions if anything changes.
